Senior Applied AI Engineer (.NET)

Salary: £80,000 - 80,000 per year

Requirements:

• Strong commercial C#/.NET engineering experience
• Modern .NET, ASP.NET Core, and REST API development experience
• Genuine full-stack capability with React, Angular, TypeScript, JavaScript, or similar
• SQL experience and strong software engineering fundamentals
• Cloud exposure across Azure and/or AWS
• Hands-on exposure to LLMs or Generative AI
• Ability to explain what you built, how the model was integrated, and the engineering decisions behind it
• Experience building with AI through commercial work, independent projects, or substantial personal projects

Responsibilities:

• Build and evolve commercial applications using C#, .NET, and modern web technologies
• Design and integrate Generative AI and LLM functionality directly into software products
• Work with technologies such as OpenAI, Azure OpenAI, Claude, Gemini, or local models
• Explore RAG, AI agents, Semantic Kernel, MCP, vector search, and intelligent workflows
• Engineer for production AI realities including accuracy, security, validation, guardrails, latency, and cost
• Work across the stack, including modern frontend technologies such as React, Angular, or TypeScript
• Modernise established products while helping shape how AI changes their capabilities
• Take ideas from experimentation through to production-ready customer functionality

This is a hybrid role based in Sheffield/Tankersley, with 3 days onsite and 2 days remote. We are hiring Software Engineers and Senior Software Engineers at mid-level and senior level, offering a salary of up to £80,000 depending on experience.
