Requirements:- Strong commercial experience with Scala
- Experience developing applications using Play Framework
- Strong knowledge of unit testing and integration testing
- Experience working in Agile delivery environments
- Strong problem-solving and communication skills
- Experience developing and supporting microservices architectures
- Cloud-based infrastructure experience
- Understanding of application security principles
- Experience with Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery (CI/CD)
- Experience with Test-Driven Development (TDD)
- Experience with Pair Programming
- Experience with DevOps practices and tooling
- Developing and enhancing Scala Play microservices
- Delivering high-quality code within Agile delivery teams
- Working closely with researchers, designers and technical specialists

We are hiring a Scala Engineer / Developer for a major public sector digital transformation programme in Telford, with onsite working expected two days per week. The role is part of a long-term initiative supporting the UK governments Making Tax Digital programme, helping transform the UK tax system through modern digital solutions and cloud-native technologies. You will join a mature Agile environment and work with multidisciplinary teams on high-performance microservices that directly impact millions of users.
