Linux Engineer

Salary: £50,000 - 60,000 per year

Requirements:

• Strong commercial experience with C++.
• Hands-on experience developing software for Linux-based embedded devices.
• Understanding of Embedded Linux environments and low-level application development.
• Experience integrating software with physical hardware or embedded devices.
• Good understanding of Linux processes, system resources, and debugging.
• Comfortable working in a technically focused, hardware/software engineering environment.

Responsibilities:

• Develop and maintain C++ applications running on Embedded Linux.
• Integrate software with embedded devices and underlying hardware.
• Investigate and resolve software and device-level issues.
• Work closely with hardware and software engineers to develop and enhance products.
• Debug applications and troubleshoot issues directly on embedded Linux devices.
• Contribute to the development, testing, and deployment of software across our hardware platforms.

We are supporting an AV technology organisation with an established engineering function as it hires a Linux Engineer. The role focuses on C++ development on Linux, building, developing, and integrating applications that interact directly with our hardware. It is well suited to an engineer who enjoys working close to the operating system, embedded devices, and physical hardware. The position is hybrid, with two days per week in our Derbyshire office.
