Java Software Engineer

Salary: £55,000 - 55,000 per year

Requirements:

• We need knowledge and experience of developing APIs, RESTful services and microservice architectures.
• We need experience building and deploying applications in cloud environments such as AWS or Azure.
• We need a strong understanding of Test Driven Development (TDD) and Behaviour Driven Development (BDD).
• We need experience working with SQL and/or NoSQL databases such as PostgreSQL, MySQL or MongoDB.
• We need experience building and maintaining robust automated test suites that support continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD).
• We need proven experience developing and supporting large-scale systems using Java 21 and open-source technologies.

Responsibilities:

• We build and support digital services used by millions of citizens across the UK.
• We design, develop and maintain software products that improve services for our users.
• We collaborate with architects, engineers and product teams to develop secure, resilient and scalable applications using modern technologies including Java, AWS, Kubernetes, Python and CI/CD pipelines.
• We contribute to our engineering community by sharing knowledge, promoting best practice and helping teams deliver high-quality software.
