Infrastructure Engineer

Salary: £65,000 - 90,000 per year

Requirements:

• Experience with Infrastructure as Code, such as Terraform
• Experience with automation scripting, such as Python or Shell
• Understanding of the software development lifecycle
• Good understanding of Agile working practices and toolsets
• Ability to create the vision for the Release Train, feature team, platform and domain
• Experience with Terraform, Docker, and Kubernetes
• Knowledge and experience in AWS hosting and services
• Demonstrable CI/CD experience, preferably using GitLab
• Experience with observability tooling such as Grafana Loki, Tempo, Mimir, and Prometheus
• A robust SRE mindset
• Ability to support infrastructure out of hours

Responsibilities:

• Collaborate to build solutions for our platform hosted in a public cloud AWS environment
• Engineer infrastructure technology to comply with security, resilience, sustainability, and operational requirements, with observability and guardrails
• Use automation to build a reliable route to live for our products
• Identify ways to use new and existing technology tools to enhance CI/CD pipelines
• Work with colleagues across the bank to share engineering best practices and provide thought leadership
• Contribute to and manage the selection, creation, and maintenance of technologies required to meet customer needs, strategic targets, and architecture outcomes
• Develop products using modern engineering practices and tools
• Collaborate with stakeholders to develop product roadmaps and manage the lifecycle of the teams products
• Support engineered products by responding to customer feedback, new feature requests, and production issues
• Help customers consume our products
• Take a lead role within a team to design and engineer intuitive, self-service infrastructure products
• Contribute to the delivery of infrastructure as code solutions
• Build awareness of design thinking tools and techniques with users to improve the product
• Provide operational support for pattern or product-related issues
• Work with key vendors in the delivery of infrastructure services and technology for the product

We are hiring an Infrastructure Engineer for our teams in London or Edinburgh, with hybrid working available. This is a permanent role offering a salary of up to £94,000 per annum. You will work across the bank with modern engineering practices, helping us build secure, resilient, sustainable, and observable public cloud infrastructure while collaborating with stakeholders and vendors to deliver impactful platform solutions.
