Job Description

Salary: £29,000 - 62,000 per year

Requirements:
  • Expert knowledge of Oracle Financials, particularly Oracle R12 and/or Oracle Cloud, and detailed understanding of Finance business processes
  • Strong experience designing complex enterprise integration architectures involving APIs, middleware, batch processing, messaging technologies, and event-driven integration patterns
  • Extensive understanding of Finance data architecture, master data management, reference data, chart of accounts design, and enterprise data governance
  • Demonstrated experience designing highly automated Finance processes that improve efficiency while strengthening governance and internal controls
  • Professional architecture certification, such as TOGAF or Oracle Cloud Infrastructure Architect
  • Oracle Financials certification or equivalent
  • Oil, gas, or energy experience is essential
  • Substantive understanding of accounting principles or an accounting qualification is preferred
Responsibilities:
  • Develop, maintain, and govern the target-state Finance Systems Architecture across Finance applications, aligning it with our Digital Finance Strategy, Enterprise Architecture standards, and long-term technology roadmap
  • Design and govern integrations among Oracle R12 (Voyager and Orbis), OneStream, Kyriba, Emburse, Neeyamo, BlackLine, Supplier Master Data, Azolve, Payroll Benefits, Oracle Time & Labour, Aveva ERM, and other Finance-related applications
  • Ensure reliable, secure, resilient, and efficient data flows across the application landscape
  • Design Finance processes holistically across Record-to-Report, Procure-to-Pay, Order-to-Cash, Project Accounting, Treasury, Payroll, Tax, Statutory, Management, and Enterprise Performance Management Reporting
  • Eliminate unnecessary manual intervention and process duplication
  • Define and govern Finance data architecture, including ownership, quality standards, reference data, Chart of Accounts, Supplier Master Data, organisational structures, and common data definitions
  • Preserve the integrity, completeness, and auditability of financial data across system interfaces, including appropriate controls, reconciliation processes, and segregation of duties
  • Establish architecture principles, standards, design patterns, and review processes across Finance technology projects
  • Review, modify, and approve solution designs from implementation partners and internal teams for compliance with agreed standards
  • Identify opportunities to simplify Finance processes through automation, workflow optimisation, standardisation, and elimination of non-value-adding activities
  • Ensure Finance solutions are scalable, secure, supportable, and maintainable, minimising customisation and promoting configuration over bespoke development where practical
  • Provide architectural leadership throughout programme delivery, from solution design through implementation, testing, deployment, and operational support
  • Provide technical oversight of implementation partners and software vendors, ensuring delivery aligns with our architectural standards, commercial objectives, and long-term operating model
  • Ensure the Finance Systems Architecture supports evolving regulatory requirements, including Making Tax Digital, e-invoicing, statutory reporting, audit requirements, information security, and data governance
  • Maintain a multi-year Finance Systems roadmap, identifying enhancements, technical debt reduction, platform optimisation, and emerging technologies that support our strategic objectives
  • Define a framework for Finance application governance, rationalisation, and investment prioritisation
  • Work with Cyber Security colleagues to identify and mitigate cyber risks across the Finance application suite
  • Ensure the Finance Systems Architecture is documented, understood, and successfully transitioned to our managed services partner to support incident resolution, change management, and operational stability
