Engineering Manager - Data Platform

Salary: £41,000 - 81,000 per year

Requirements:

• Proven experience as an Engineering Manager, with a track record of improving delivery and team performance.
• Strong background in data platforms, platform engineering, or cloud infrastructure, ideally AWS.
• Experience with distributed systems, event-driven architectures, and streaming technologies such as Kafka.
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, with experience working across cross-functional teams.
• A balanced approach to technical leadership and people development, with a passion for building scalable platforms and enabling teams to succeed.

Responsibilities:

• Drive delivery excellence by establishing clear planning, prioritisation, and execution practices that ensure predictable, high-quality outcomes.
• Collaborate across the business with Product, Data, Architecture, and Engineering teams to translate business needs into impactful platform solutions.
• Provide technical leadership by guiding architecture and design decisions, ensuring scalability, reliability, and security.
• Enhance engineering effectiveness by championing AI-assisted development, automation, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Build and grow high-performing teams through coaching, mentoring, and fostering an inclusive, supportive engineering culture.
