Embedded Firmware Engineer

Requirements:

• Approximately five years of professional embedded software engineering experience using C/C++
• Hands-on experience with STM32 microcontrollers and embedded debugging
• Proven experience delivering low-power firmware for battery-operated devices
• Experience integrating GNSS modules and working with LoRa or LoRaWAN communications
• Deep understanding of I2C, SPI, ADC, DAC, PWM, and external EEPROM
• Professional experience with an RTOS, preferably FreeRTOS
• Proficiency with VS Code and/or STM32CubeIDE
• Ability to work independently and deliver production-ready, maintainable firmware
• Familiarity with u-blox M10 or newer GNSS architectures
• Experience with oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, multimeters, and J-Link or ST-Link
• Experience with Git and collaborative development workflows
• Ability to read hardware schematics and PCB layouts
• Experience using AI-assisted development tools such as GitHub Copilot or comparable tools

Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, debug, and optimize embedded firmware for low-power STM32-based IoT devices
• Integrate GNSS, LoRa or LoRaWAN, and hardware peripherals
• Develop within an RTOS environment
• Deliver reliable, maintainable, production-ready code
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary product and platform teams across the UK, Israel, and California, USA

This is a full-time temporary contract for 2 years with hybrid working (2 days onsite and 3 days from home), an hourly rate of £31.54 - £23.64 depending on experience, and 25 days holiday.
