Databricks Solution Architect

Salary: £55,000 - 95,000 per year

Requirements:

• We need 8–12 years of experience in data architecture, engineering, or consulting, including at least 4+ years in modern big data solution architecture.
• We need demonstrated expertise in designing and implementing modern big data architectures for large enterprises.
• We need strong consulting values and the ability to engage effectively with senior client stakeholders.
• We need hands-on experience across the data lifecycle, including ingestion, storage, transformation, governance, analytics, and consumption.
• We need deep understanding of data product strategies, Data Mesh, and Data Fabric concepts.
• We need the ability to align data strategies with business objectives and drive measurable value.
• We need excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• We need proven experience leading data modernisation initiatives across multiple sectors.
• We need proficiency with big data technologies such as Apache Spark, Kafka, Confluent, Databricks, and Unity Catalog.
• We need strong knowledge of cloud ecosystems such as AWS, Azure, and GCP, as well as infrastructure-as-code tools like Terraform and CloudFormation.
• We need hands-on expertise with data lake and lakehouse architectures and modern streaming solutions.
• We need experience with SQL, NoSQL, ETL/ELT pipelines, and programming languages such as Python, R, and Java.
• We need familiarity with BI, data visualisation, and DevOps principles.
• We need strong understanding of data governance, security, and compliance frameworks including GDPR, CCPA, and HIPAA.
• We need exposure to machine learning and AI integration within modern data platforms.
• We need a university degree.
• We prefer a BSc or MSc in Computer Science, Data Engineering, or a related field.
• We highly value relevant certifications in Databricks, Kafka, or cloud platforms.

Responsibilities:

• We engage with clients to define modern big data strategies.
• We design and implement cloud-native and modern big data architectures.
• We support client delivery for scalable, reliable, and business-aligned data platforms.
• We lead modernisation and transformation efforts toward cloud-native data platforms.
• We provide thought leadership and share knowledge across our practice and with clients.
• We collaborate with executives, stakeholders, technical teams, client partners, practice leaders, and peers at senior levels.
• We guide clients through their data modernization journeys.
• We contribute to practice growth through assets, accelerators, and thought leadership.
• We help ensure delivery of modern big data solutions aligned to client business objectives.
• We work to achieve high client satisfaction and repeat engagements.
• We support and lead client relationships up to Head of Data Engineering, Chief Data Architect, CIO, and CDO level.
