Data Engineer

Requirements:

• Microsoft Fabric experience on at least one real-world commercial project
• Strong, demonstrable Microsoft Synapse development experience
• Excellent PySpark and SQL skills
• Experience building and developing data pipelines
• Strong data testing, validation, and debugging skills
• Experience working across data warehouse migrations or modernisation projects
• Power BI experience would be beneficial

Responsibilities:

• Join a major data transformation programme in Edinburgh
• Support the final stages of the migration from a legacy data warehouse to a new Microsoft Fabric environment
• Test outputs, identify and debug differences in data, and make remedial changes to prepare the new environment for production
• Provide post go-live support
• Continue developing data pipelines
• Help deliver data and reporting requirements across the business

We are Bright Purple and we are looking for an experienced Data Engineer to join a major data transformation programme in Edinburgh. This is a hands-on contract role with hybrid working, offering an initial rate of £400 to £475 per day inside IR35. The role sits at an important point in the transition to Microsoft Fabric, with go-live approaching and continued development to follow.
