Data Analyst
Job Description
Salary: £54,000 - 94,000 per year
Requirements:- Experience in data management and working with large data sets, including querying, cleansing, verification, and quality checking
- Strong data analysis skills, including the ability to derive insights from data
- Experience using and configuring data visualization tools such as Power BI, Tableau, or Google Analytics
- Previous research experience involving data and statistics, especially company data, official statistics, and reports
- An analytical, questioning mindset and excellent attention to detail
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Experience in trends analysis and market forecasting
- Experience or a strong interest in the built environment, the economy, and consumer trends
- A degree or equivalent qualification in mathematics, statistics, data analytics, data science, or business analytics is desirable; a degree with strong quantitative or statistical components is also relevant
- Collect, analyze, and work with data to produce reports, dashboards, data sets, and analysis for consultancy clients, helping them understand their market position
- Build market profiles at granular and macro levels across products, sectors, and regions by bringing together data from multiple sources
- Manage data inputs, including defining data clearly, verifying and quality-checking it, following transfer protocols, and managing update cycles
- Present data and its insights in accessible and engaging formats, including documents, PowerPoint presentations, data sheets, and interactive dashboards
- Support the specification, testing, and launch of new data-related products
- Contribute to the development of data architecture and data-sharing capabilities with clients and European partner companies

Barbour ABI provides intelligence for the UK built environment, including construction project leads, analytics, market research, and consultancy. In this role, you will work with the Head of Client Analytics and support qualitative and quantitative research for clients across sectors including construction products, industry associations, service providers, retailers, and government. The role is hybrid, with three days a week at our head office at Cheshire Oaks Business Park in Ellesmere Port, around 15 minutes by car from Chester.
