Data Analyst

Salary: £50,000 - 80,000 per year

Requirements:

• Strong commercial Data Analyst experience in a similar role, preferably in a fast-moving, growing health or tech consumer product/service business
• Degree or equivalent in Data, Tech or a numerate discipline
• Strong SQL skills and confidence working with large datasets; Python or R experience for data analysis is beneficial
• Proficient in Excel and at least one BI tool such as Power BI or Tableau; customer management and EPOS system knowledge is advantageous
• Excellent attention to detail and a methodical approach to analysis, ideally with a basic understanding of statistical concepts
• Curious and analytical, with a genuine interest in the story the data tells
• Able to explain technical findings to non-technical stakeholders
• High integrity, collaborative approach, strong organisational skills, and the ability to manage multiple requests
• Committed to continuous learning and professional development

Responsibilities:

• Build and maintain dashboards and self-service reports for membership, sales and retention metrics
• Automate recurring reporting to reduce manual effort and improve accuracy
• Ensure reports are accurate, well-documented, and easy for non-technical users to interpret
• Analyse trends in customer growth, churn, engagement, and campaign performance
• Respond to ad hoc analysis requests from Marketing, Operations and Finance
• Identify patterns and flag risks or opportunities to relevant stakeholders
• Validate incoming data feeds from customer, EPOS and marketing systems
• Investigate and resolve data discrepancies in collaboration with the Data Engineer
• Maintain clear documentation of report logic and data sources
• Work with colleague teams to understand information needs
• Present findings clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences
• Support the Lead Data Analyst in prioritising the analytics workload

We are a successful tech scale-up and a cash-generative SME, currently at around £12m turnover with approximately 80 staff, and we are aiming to double in size over the next five years under the guidance of our experienced, highly charismatic and driven owner, supported by a first-class senior leadership team including a new CEO. We are strengthening our Data & Insight capability and working closely with our Operations Director, who leads our Customer Service, Project Delivery, IT and HR teams. This is a full-time, permanent, office-based role in Gateshead, with a salary of £50,000 to £80,000 plus benefits, training and development support, free parking, on-site health facilities, staff events and discounts.
