Cyber Security Manager
Job Description
Salary: £57,000 - 75,537 per year
Requirements:- Educated to degree level in Cybersecurity or computing-based subjects, or hold an equivalent professional qualification or relevant experience.
- CISSP, CITP (BCS), or an equivalent qualification or experience.
- Extensive leadership experience at a suitably senior level within higher education or a similarly complex organisation, including management of staff and resources.
- Experience gathering operational evidence on cyber security performance using vulnerability assessment tools.
- Awareness and understanding of networking and communication concepts and cloud virtualisation techniques.
- We develop, implement, and continuously update our cyber security strategy in line with business objectives and regulatory requirements.
- We establish and enforce cyber security policies, standards, and guidelines to protect our assets and data.
- We conduct regular risk assessments and vulnerability analyses, and oversee risk management processes to ensure appropriate controls and countermeasures are in place.
- We lead incident response efforts, including preparation, detection, response, post-incident analysis, and reporting.
- We manage and mentor our cyber security team, supporting recruitment, training, performance management, and ongoing development.
- We ensure compliance with relevant cyber security laws, regulations, and industry standards, and oversee internal and external audits and certification maintenance.
- We act as the primary point of contact for cyber security matters, collaborating with departments, stakeholders, and external partners.

The successful candidate will lead and manage the overall approach to cyber security and governance across all environments.
