Salary: £70,000 - 110,000 per year

Requirements:
  • An experienced consultant with a background in Cyber Security
  • Minimum 3-5 years of experience in Information Security related positions
  • Minimum 2-3 years of experience in security architecture
  • Certification in AWS or Azure for Architecture and Security or similar
  • IASME / Cyber Essentials Plus certified
  • Knowledge of secure network architecture and technical design
  • Experience in creating secure architecture in either AWS or Azure
  • Experience providing expert strategy, risk and technical advice, guidance and support on cyber security in business-as-usual and live or planned projects
  • Broad range of cyber and information security skills, knowledge and experience, including security threats and vulnerabilities impacting system hardware, software and other infrastructure components
  • Ability to carry out gap analysis for specific domains, identify gaps in existing capabilities and service maturity
  • Ability to identify missing cybersecurity and cyber-resiliency capabilities in alignment with changing business needs, threat landscape and technical requirements
  • Knowledge of identifying, developing and communicating threat modelling
  • Experience working as an effective member of a multi-disciplinary team
  • Excellent stakeholder management, presentation and communication skills
  • Pro-active approach to personal and professional development
  • Must hold, or be able to hold, an HMG Security Check (SC) clearance
  • Ability to apply standards, practices, codes and assessment of certification programmes relevant to the IT industry and business domain
  • Knowledge of the IT/IS infrastructure and the IT applications and service processes used within the organisation
  • Ability to use tools or systems that provide security access control
  • Proficiency in the principles and application of cloud/virtualisation, including ownership responsibilities and security implications
  • Experience in writing and creating Cyber Security documents such as Risk Assessments, ESRM, DPIA and producing patterns and supporting quality assurance
  • Security certification such as ISC2 CISSP, ISC2 CCSP, ISACA CISM or similar
  • Knowledge of evolving digital technology and applications such as AI, digital twins or IoT
  • Knowledge of the principles, practices, tools and techniques of IT auditing
  • Experience working on central government, local government and public corporations projects and deliverables
  • Experience in the discipline associated with large or complex data sets
  • Knowledge of computer-mediated tools for creating, sharing or exchanging information in virtual communities and networks
  • Experience preparing and presenting business cases, RFPs, ITTs and statements of requirements/work
Responsibilities:
  • Interact with senior stakeholders across departments and understand the cyber security challenges faced by clients
  • Manage, deliver and lead cyber security and cyber risk assignments, including producing documentation, reports and recommendations
  • Quality assure work produced by team members
  • Work as a subject matter expert to support a team and manage a larger team in delivering engagements at scale
  • Maintain awareness of key business and industry trends and understand how they impact responses to cyber risk
  • Research, articulate and pitch complex and innovative architecture and security advice at both business and technical levels
  • Justify and communicate design decisions directly to key customer stakeholders, including senior management
  • Develop vision, principles and strategy for security architects for one project or technology
  • Provide trusted, pragmatic and agnostic advice to help clients navigate complex, risk-driven cyber decisions
  • Understand the impact of decisions, balancing requirements and choosing between approaches
  • Investigate major breaches of security and recommend appropriate control improvements
  • Contribute to the development of information security policy, standards, procedures and guidelines
  • Act as the point of escalation for architects in lower grade roles
  • Lead the technical design of systems and services
