Cisco Telephony & Videoconferencing Engineer

Salary: £48,000 - 88,000 per year

Requirements:

• 5 years experience working in Cisco environments
• Strong expertise in Cisco Unified Communications Manager (CUCM) v12.5, Cisco Unity Connection, Cisco Jabber, Cisco IP Telephony, Cisco Meeting Server (CMS), Cisco TelePresence Management Suite (TMS), and Cisco video conferencing endpoints
• Strong knowledge of SIP and H.323 protocols
• VMware v7/v8 experience
• Proven experience supporting enterprise-scale voice and video collaboration solutions
• Active SC clearance
• Desirable: experience with Kurmi, Telisca, RTMT, Prognosis, or PeterConnects
• Desirable: WAN/LAN networking knowledge, network security experience, and systems administration experience
• Customer-focused approach, excellent communication skills, collaborative working style, and structured problem-solving skills

Responsibilities:

• Deliver and implement Cisco telephony and video conferencing projects
• Act as a subject matter expert for Cisco Unified Communications technologies
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex incidents, and support major incident management
• Conduct root cause analysis and contribute to service improvement initiatives
• Produce and maintain high-level designs (HLDs), low-level designs (LLDs), and operational documentation
• Perform hardware and configuration testing
• Provide technical mentoring and knowledge transfer to engineering teams
• Work with Defence stakeholders and service management teams to support communications services

We are seeking an experienced Cisco Unified Communications Engineer to join our Defence-focused technical team, supporting secure, business-critical voice and collaboration services across secure Defence networks. The role focuses on delivering, supporting, and continually improving Cisco telephony and video conferencing platforms, including leading project implementations and providing technical expertise in complex Cisco UC environments. The position is based in Stevenage, requires five days on site, and pays £850 per day Inside IR35.
