Automation Engineer - Enterprise Infrastructure

Salary: £70,000 - 70,000 per year

Requirements:

• We are looking for strong 3rd Line Infrastructure Support experience.
• We need strong PowerShell skills.
• We need experience with Power Automate or Power Platform.
• We need knowledge of Active Directory, Microsoft Entra ID and enterprise infrastructure.
• Experience with Python or Bash would be highly advantageous.
• Experience with Microsoft Graph API would be highly advantageous.
• Experience with Ansible and Terraform would be highly advantageous.
• Experience with monitoring technologies and virtualisation would be highly advantageous.
• Experience with DevOps and CI/CD practices would be highly advantageous.
• We are looking for someone comfortable working in an ITIL-based environment.
• We need someone who can manage stakeholders and communicate technical information clearly to technical and non-technical audiences.
• A genuine interest in automation and solving problems through technology is essential.

Responsibilities:

• We will identify repetitive and time-consuming processes and turn them into reliable, scalable automated solutions.
• We will use technologies such as PowerShell, Power Automate, Python and Microsoft Graph API to improve how infrastructure services are deployed, monitored, managed and supported.
• We will provide 3rd Line technical support across a broad Microsoft infrastructure estate.
• We will act as an escalation point for complex incidents and troubleshoot challenging infrastructure issues.
• We will work toward permanent solutions rather than short-term fixes.
• We will carry out infrastructure maintenance, upgrades, patching, monitoring and service improvement across cloud and on-premise environments.
• We will support Infrastructure as Code and configuration management using technologies such as Ansible and Terraform.
• We will gain exposure to CI/CD and DevOps practices.
• We will work closely with Infrastructure Operations, Service Desk, Field Services and Project teams to improve processes and service delivery.
• We will share knowledge, document solutions and provide technical guidance to colleagues across the team.
