Application Architect
Job Description
Salary: £40,000 - 65,000 per year
Requirements:- We need proven experience delivering application architecture standards, governance, and strategy within a complex enterprise environment.
- We need a strong understanding of application lifecycle management and portfolio management practices.
- We need experience working with IT governance and architecture frameworks.
- We need the ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- We need strong stakeholder management and influencing skills.
- We need experience leading, managing, or mentoring technical teams.
- We need an understanding of application integration principles and enterprise systems architecture.
- We need experience balancing business requirements with security, regulatory, and operational considerations.
- We need a degree in a STEM-related discipline or equivalent experience.
- We value architecture certifications such as TOGAF or similar.
- We value IT service management qualifications such as ITIL.
- We value experience using enterprise architecture modelling techniques and tools.
- We lead the application architecture strategy, defining the vision and roadmap for application solutions across a major business area.
- We oversee application portfolio management activities, including application rationalisation, lifecycle management, and obsolescence planning.
- We design and maintain application architecture blueprints aligned to business goals and enterprise standards.
- We collaborate with business and technical owners to create coherent application roadmaps and investment plans.
- We ensure application information is maintained accurately within configuration and asset management repositories.
- We define and enforce integration standards to ensure effective communication between applications, platforms, and services.
- We evaluate emerging technologies, frameworks, and tools, providing recommendations to support future business requirements.
- We provide architectural governance, risk management, and guidance throughout the solution lifecycle to ensure security, performance, and compliance requirements are met.
- We support, mentor, and develop technical teams on architecture principles and best practices.
- We monitor industry trends and technology developments to drive continuous improvement and innovation.
