Job Description

Salary: £60,000 - 100,000 per year

Requirements:
  • Were looking for someone perceptive, personable, culturally sensitive, and emotionally intelligent, who can collaborate effectively in a matrix organisation.
  • You can use cloud-native products to build bespoke applications from scratch.
  • You have experience leading a team of four or more engineers and serving as the technical owner of a project.
  • You have Azure platform DevOps, infrastructure automation, and deployment experience.
  • You hold an expert-level Azure certification, such as AZ-400 DevOps Engineer Expert or AZ-305 Solutions Architect Expert.
  • You have demonstrable experience automating operations tasks with one or more scripting languages.
  • You have experience creating or maintaining production software delivery pipelines using common CI/CD tools such as Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, or GitLab.
  • You have deep experience with Azure across PaaS and IaaS hosting models; Azure is the primary platform for this role.
  • You have hands-on experience with a second major cloud platform, ideally AWS, and can operate credibly across more than one cloud.
  • You have experience with Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform, Bicep, or ARM.
  • You have strong client-facing skills, including regular communication with senior stakeholders and the ability to explain complex architectures to non-specialists.
  • You have experience delivering alongside client teams and third-party suppliers, influencing work without directly controlling it.
  • Youre committed to self-improvement and learning, including learning new programming languages, and take a pragmatic approach to problem-solving.
  • You have experience mentoring or managing junior engineers.
  • You have experience using AI or agentic techniques in your work, such as GitHub Copilot or Claude Code, and are enthusiastic about encouraging their adoption across a team.
  • You are required to hold active SC clearance for this role.
  • Desirable: Experience supporting and operating production systems.
  • Desirable: Experience migrating or re-hosting legacy workloads into Azure, including networking and hybrid connectivity.
  • Desirable: Familiarity with configuration management tools such as Ansible.
  • Desirable: AWS or GCP cloud certifications in addition to Azure certification.
  • Desirable: Exposure to Azure AI/ML services such as Azure AI Foundry, Azure OpenAI, or Azure Machine Learning.
  • Desirable: Python coding skills.
Responsibilities:
  • Lead engineering teams on client engagements and act as the technical owner of projects.
  • Build bespoke applications using cloud-native products and help solve clients engineering challenges.
  • Communicate with client stakeholders and guide delivery alongside client teams and third-party suppliers.
  • Mentor and support junior engineers, and help drive the adoption of AI and agentic techniques across a team.
  • Spend most of your time on client work, with the remainder on internal projects, training, and development.
