Agentic AI Engineer - Rapid Prototyping

Requirements:

• Were looking for someone who has personally built AI-enabled solutions, agents, or automations; this is not an AI strategy or programme management role.
• Ideally, youll have strong experience across a combination of generative AI, LLMs, and Agentic AI.
• Experience building AI agents or agentic workflows.
• Experience with AWS Bedrock, Azure OpenAI, or comparable enterprise LLM platforms.
• Familiarity with agent frameworks such as LangGraph, LangChain, Semantic Kernel, AutoGen, or CrewAI.
• Experience with RAG, tool or function calling, and grounding LLMs against enterprise data.
• Prompt and agent instruction design experience.
• Knowledge of LLM evaluation, guardrails, observability, and security.
• Strong Python and SQL skills.
• Experience with REST APIs, JSON, webhooks, and enterprise integrations.
• Experience querying and manipulating data for AI use cases.
• Experience rapidly prototyping and taking ideas from proof of concept through real-user testing.
• Comfort integrating with unfamiliar systems and quickly learning new technology.

Responsibilities:

• Build AI agents, automations, and LLM-powered prototypes for real business use cases.
• Prototype using AWS Bedrock and other emerging AI platforms and frameworks.
• Design and refine prompts, agent instructions, RAG approaches, and evaluation criteria.
• Query and prepare data, work with APIs, and connect prototypes to enterprise systems.
• Run pilots with real users, measure results, and iterate based on evidence and feedback.
• Explore emerging agent frameworks, AI tools, and automation platforms beyond the existing technology stack.
• Compare new technologies with existing platforms based on capability, cost, and integration effort.
• Document successful builds and help transition viable pilots toward wider delivery.

Were recruiting for a large global technology business through PCR Digital. The role is an AI Innovation Engineer position in a small, highly autonomous AI and Automation Innovation Lab within the commercial organisation, working alongside an AI Innovation Manager as one half of a two-person team. The lab is designed to move quickly, exploring emerging AI technology and applying it to enterprise problems. The existing environment includes AWS/Bedrock, Microsoft, Salesforce, and Snowflake. This is a build-first role focused on experimenting, building, and iterating directly with Commercial and Operations teams. The contract is 6–12 months, paying £500 per day inside IR35, and is based in London or fully remote.
