Requirements:
  • Hands-on experience with API development, system integration, and designing robust technical solutions
  • Strong knowledge of REST APIs, web services, and data exchange patterns
  • Experience integrating SaaS platforms and complex business systems
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Azure and cloud-based integration services
  • Experience with identity and access management technologies, including Entra ID, SSO, SAML, and OAuth
  • Understanding of integration security, authentication, and data protection
  • Strong analytical and technical problem-solving skills
  • Ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders
  • Strong organisational skills and ability to manage multiple projects and priorities
  • Relevant technical degree or equivalent practical experience
  • Experience with Power Automate or Make, CRM integrations, or Agile delivery environments is advantageous
Responsibilities:
  • Design, build, and maintain API integrations between core business platforms and third-party systems
  • Develop reliable REST-based and event-driven integrations, ensuring consistent and secure data flows
  • Support SSO and identity integrations using Microsoft Entra ID and Entra External ID
  • Lead technical integrations across a diverse ecosystem of SaaS platforms
  • Create automated workflows that reduce manual processes and improve efficiency and user experience
  • Use Power Automate, Azure, and other integration technologies to strengthen system connectivity
  • Integrate finance and business systems to support accurate reporting, forecasting, and decision-making
  • Establish integration standards, documentation, and best practices to help keep solutions secure, compliant, and scalable

We are Advance HE, working with higher education institutions in the UK and internationally to support improvements across leadership and governance, teaching and learning, and equality, diversity, and inclusion. Our Technical Integration Engineer will help shape and evolve our technology landscape, connecting our digital ecosystem across platforms including Microsoft Azure, Dataverse, Dynamics 365 CRM, Business Central, Power Automate, Entra ID, and a range of SaaS products. We offer a full-time, 35-hour-per-week fixed-term contract until 31 July 2028, with a salary of £50,244 per annum. The role is hybrid, with a nominal office in London or York and an average of approximately four office days per month. Benefits include 31 days annual leave plus bank holidays, a Universities Superannuation Scheme pension, enhanced family leave, flexible working hours, and opportunities to develop expertise in integration architecture, cloud technologies, and automation.
