Contract Embedded, FPGA & Hardware Engineer

Requirements:- Experience in one or more of the following: Embedded C/C++, RTOS or bare-metal development, ARM/STM32, FPGA design and development, VHDL/Verilog, digital electronics, electronic hardware design and development, PCB design/development/debugging, Ethernet/TCP/IP, SPI, I2C, UART, CAN, JTAG and embedded debugging, verification/validation/testing, MISRA/CERT C, static analysis tools, or high-integrity/safety-critical engineering.
- Current SC or DV Security Clearance is required.
- Previous experience in Defence, Aerospace, National Security, or another highly regulated engineering environment is particularly relevant.
- Design, develop, and maintain embedded software for complex engineering systems.
- Develop low-level software using C/C++ in embedded environments.
- Design and develop FPGA solutions using VHDL/Verilog.
- Design, develop, and debug digital and electronic hardware.
- Contribute across the engineering lifecycle, from requirements and design through integration, verification, and testing.
- Develop solutions for high-integrity and secure environments.
- Debug and resolve complex software, FPGA, and hardware issues.
- Produce appropriate technical and engineering documentation.
- Work with multidisciplinary Software, FPGA, Hardware, Systems, and Test teams.
- Contribute to project requirements, milestones, and engineering deliverables.

We are working with an established UK technology and engineering business that delivers complex systems and solutions for customers in highly regulated and secure environments. We have multiple contract openings for Embedded Software Engineers, FPGA Engineers, and Electronics/Hardware Engineers in Derbyshire, fully onsite. Assignments are initially 6–12 months, with potential for longer-term work depending on project requirements and deliverables. Day rates are flexible and negotiable depending on experience. These technically challenging projects involve complex systems where security, quality, and engineering standards are critical, with a strong pipeline of work and potential for successful contractors to continue beyond the initial assignment.
