Azure Infrastructure Engineer

Salary: £50,000 - 57,200 per year

Requirements:

• Demonstrable experience in an IT Operations or Infrastructure Engineering environment, with strong expertise in Microsoft technologies and enterprise infrastructure platforms.
• Extensive knowledge of Windows Server, Active Directory, Azure AD, ADFS and Hyper-V virtualisation.
• Experience with HPE server technologies, enterprise storage platforms, backup and disaster recovery solutions, SCCM and SCVMM.
• Strong PowerShell scripting and automation skills.
• Solid understanding of networking fundamentals, including firewalls and load balancers, and experience with monitoring and alerting tools such as SolarWinds.
• Knowledge of Microsoft operating systems and Microsoft 365 services, and experience in ITIL-aligned service management environments.
• Strong problem-solving, analytical and communication skills, and the ability to work independently and collaboratively.
• Eligibility to undergo BPSS and SC security clearance; existing SC clearance is advantageous.
• Desirable: Microsoft certifications such as Azure Administrator Associate (AZ-104), Windows Server Hybrid Administrator Associate (AZ-802) or Microsoft Certified Solutions Associate (MESA); experience with Cisco networking and firewall technologies; and knowledge of MOD SCIDA environments.
• A full UK driving licence is desirable due to occasional travel requirements.

Responsibilities:

• Manage and optimise core infrastructure services, including Active Directory, Azure AD, Group Policy, DNS and DHCP.
• Maintain Windows Server environments across physical and virtual platforms and oversee NAS and SAN storage solutions.
• Work with security teams to maintain secure, compliant and resilient infrastructure through patch management, system hardening, vulnerability remediation and threat protection.
• Support backup, replication and disaster recovery processes to meet business continuity requirements.
• Assist with migrating workloads from on-premises environments to Microsoft Azure.
• Work with operational teams, developers and project stakeholders to deliver and maintain infrastructure solutions and projects.
• Help ensure the performance, reliability, security and availability of critical IT infrastructure environments.
