Integration Architect – Kafka

Salary: £132,000 - 144,000 per year

Requirements:

• Proven experience as an Integration Architect in complex enterprise environments
• Strong hands-on experience with Apache Kafka
• Deep understanding of event-driven and message-based architectures
• Experience designing high-volume, real-time integration solutions
• Strong knowledge of distributed systems, APIs, and microservices architectures
• Experience working in cloud environments, particularly AWS
• Ability to translate business requirements into scalable technical solutions
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills

Responsibilities:

• Design and deliver enterprise integration solutions across complex technology estates
• Define event-driven architecture patterns and best practices
• Lead the implementation and optimisation of Apache Kafka platforms
• Produce high-quality architecture artefacts and technical designs
• Work closely with engineering teams to support delivery and resolve complex technical challenges
• Engage with senior stakeholders across technology and business functions
• Drive integration standards, governance, and architectural direction across programmes

Were supporting a major transformation programme and are seeking an experienced Integration Architect to lead the design and delivery of large-scale integration solutions. This is a hands-on role combining architectural capability with detailed technical involvement, rather than focusing solely on governance. The initial contract is six months, with a rate of £550–£600 inside IR35, payable to an umbrella company. The role is based in Central London, with on-site attendance four days a week.
