Head of Product Design

Salary: £100,000 - 100,000 per year

Requirements:

• 7 years in product design, with 2 years in design leadership
• A track record of shipping exceptional mobile and web products at scale
• Deep experience building and scaling design systems and component libraries
• A portfolio showing both strategic thinking and strong execution
• Comfort operating at executive level, with a high sense of urgency
• Startup experience, and to be making a lateral move into this kind of role (not stepping up for the first time)

Responsibilities:

• Own web and mobile product design end to end
• Build the design function from scratch, including the design system, process and standards
• Work on complex enterprise UX for security operators, IT and facilities teams
• Balance strategic thinking with hands-on execution, including research, UX, UI, prototyping, Figma, and dev handoff
• Partner closely with the CEO and cross-functional leads on product direction

We are a Series B AI and physical security startup building a cloud platform that combines video surveillance, access control, visitor management, and emergency response into one system. This is a rare opportunity to build a design function from the ground up while working closely with our CEO, Product, and Engineering teams, with real influence over strategy and roadmap. The role is based in London (Old Street) and is 5 days onsite. We offer a salary of £120k, flexible for the right person, plus equity and benefits.
