Associate Director, Data Science/Gen AI Lead

Salary: £95,000 - 130,000 per year

Requirements:

• We are seeking an experienced Associate Director, Gen AI Architect with client-facing project experience in consulting or direct ER&I industry roles.

• We are seeking proven leadership in building and developing high-performing, diverse GenAI architecture teams and nurturing junior talent.
• We need excellent understanding and experience designing and implementing complex GenAI solutions, including model integration and deployment, prompt engineering and model customization, governance and ethics, platform and infrastructure architecture, ModelOps and performance monitoring, business intelligence and reporting, observability and FinOps, and cloud infrastructure, networking, and security for AI.
• We value experience aligning GenAI architecture blueprints across business units and geographies with peers and senior architects.
• We look for experience presenting GenAI architectural designs to diverse stakeholders, including technical authorities and architecture boards.
• We need experience evaluating, designing, and analysing enterprise-wide systems incorporating GenAI, both on-premise and cloud-based.
• We expect experience engaging with business and IT stakeholders to document business outcomes and objectives for large-scale GenAI solutions and programs.
• We require the ability to identify requirements, analyse technology alternatives, and recommend build versus buy decisions for GenAI platforms and solutions.
• We seek proven ability to conduct effective discovery and design workshops focused on GenAI solutions.
• We value the ability to quickly learn and apply new GenAI techniques and knowledge to achieve business outcomes.
• We need experience leading multi-disciplinary teams in fast-paced GenAI projects, with personal resilience.
• We require the ability to lead go-to-market activities, including RFI and RFP responses and developing high-quality GenAI-focused proposals.
• Desirable experience includes technical design leadership for strategic GenAI adoption, strategic platform and tool evaluation, awareness of emerging GenAI technologies and standards, understanding of AI regulations, cloud expertise across AWS, Azure, or GCP, and familiarity with Data and AI platforms, advanced GenAI frameworks, agentic architectures, prompt engineering, vector databases and RAG, ModelOps and MLOps, multimodal and code generation, ER&I use cases, enterprise software integration, advanced reporting, project sizing, global team leadership, and agile delivery.

Responsibilities:

• We will have you head the architecting and design of innovative Gen AI solutions for our clients in the ER&I sector, driving transformational impact and creating significant business value.
• We will have you collaborate with other architects, data scientists, and client teams to define end-to-end Gen AI architectures that integrate with existing systems and enable AI-powered capabilities.
• We will have you design Gen AI architectures aligned with client business objectives and technology strategies.
• We will have you advise ER&I clients on leveraging Gen AI to address their challenges and objectives.
• We will have you foster executive-level discussions to establish a common understanding of AI and Gen AI terminology.
• We will have you develop strategic roadmaps for Gen AI capabilities to generate value from data and AI.
• We will have you evaluate existing systems and recommend target Gen AI architectures using AI technologies and cloud platforms.
• We will have you lead diverse global teams, fostering an inclusive and valued team culture.
• We will have you support change management processes to ensure successful Gen AI adoption.
• We will have you assist in developing market-leading Gen AI solutions and proposals.
• We will have you contribute to the development and growth of our AI and Data Architecture community.
• We will have you drive client project delivery by owning workstreams and ensuring successful engagements.
• We will have you develop junior team members through on-the-job training.
