Software Architect
Job Description
Salary: £70,000 - 100,000 per year
Requirements:- Eligibility to gain SC Security Clearance.
- Willingness to travel regularly within the UK and infrequently worldwide.
- Strong experience designing and owning architectures for complex systems in a shared services, Service-Oriented, or microservices environment.
- Hands-on experience with AWS cloud services would be advantageous.
- Experience working in environments with security, cybersecurity, reliability, and compliance constraints.
- Interest in the theory, patterns, and evolution of longstanding architectures.
- Ability to identify issues, ask questions, and spot red flags within architecture or the full software lifecycle.
- Ability to work creatively to solve problems, untangle historic situations, and uphold security regulations.
- Translate business and customer goals and high-level requirements into robust architecture for Geospatial solutions.
- Balance performance, security, reliability, and compliance in solution design.
- Establish end-to-end traceability from requirements to solution design through structured documentation and design rationale.
- Leverage MBSE (SysML/UML) to model complex system architectures.
- Drive architectural vision by proactively engaging with key stakeholders to gather pertinent information.
- Consider efficiency, component reuse, and how the system can evolve to meet future demands.
- Work on the whole lifecycle, creating the core of our Geospatial and satellite data products.
- Contribute within a collaborative Agile scrum environment alongside testers, developers, lead engineers, project managers, and a product owner.
- Help deliver secure Geospatial software for Government and MOD projects, focusing on ISR solutions.
