Data Architect (Data Modelling)
Job Description
Salary: £44,000 - 84,000 per year
Requirements:- Experience working with semi-structured, high-volume data, ideally in Digital tagging or Analytics area.
- Strong skills in stakeholder management.
- Hands-on experience in DV 2.0 and Kimball dimensional data modelling.
- Clear understanding of the differences between Conceptual, Logical, and Physical data modelling, and able to demonstrate these distinctions.
- Experience in a Matrix reporting structure.
- Ability to serve as the Architecture custodian for the squad, ensuring standards and principles are followed.
- Knowledge of data products.
- Technical expertise in designing ELT pipelines.
- Experience as a Data Modeller or Architect.
- Comprehensive understanding of Data Warehousing and analytic end-to-end architecture.
- Proficiency with modelling methodologies such as 3NF, Dimensional, and Data Vault.
- Experience with canonical modelling and publication service/microservice-based schematic design.
- Knowledge of machine learning and modern algorithmic techniques at scale.
- Strong communication and influencing skills.
- Curious and driven mindset with the ability to understand business processes and data.
- Design and build advanced data solutions and models.
- Work closely with Product Owners, Engineers, and cross-functional teams to deliver optimal data solutions.
- Triage new requirements, assess impact, and provide estimates for modifying data models.
- Develop and enhance business physical data models to meet evolving needs.
- Drive alignment across teams where necessary.
- Act as custodian of data models and define/own modelling within delivery teams.
- Ensure adherence to standards and principles.
- Create solutions that fulfil business needs and align with the end state architecture.
- Document, communicate, and centrally manage data models appropriately.
- Collaborate with the broader architecture community to share expertise and promote alignment and innovation.
- Advocate for and implement best practices at Engineering and Product Manager levels.
