Information Security Officer

Salary: £43,000 - 83,000 per year

Requirements:

• 2-4 years in an Information Security or dual IT/Security role, ideally within a regulated industry or government-adjacent sector.
• Familiarity with cloud platform security, such as AWS, Azure, or GCP, and MDM solutions for managing corporate devices.
• Understanding of UK Data Protection/GDPR and ISO 27001.
• Certifications such as CompTIA Security+, SSCP, or CISM are a significant plus.

Responsibilities:

• Manage and evolve our security management systems, ensuring alignment with security frameworks and standards such as Cyber Essentials Plus and ISO 27001.
• Work with the Head of Security to develop and implement security policies that balance security needs with the agility of a modern tech company.
• Conduct internal audits and coordinate with external assessors to maintain our security posture.
• Assess the security of our supply chain and software vendors.
• Work with internal teams to harden our cloud environments and ensure end-user devices are configured securely.
• Run and remediate vulnerability scans, helping identify and fix issues.
• Support our incident response team by investigating alerts and refining playbooks for future threats.
• Manage the lifecycle of software licenses and access controls, ensuring the principle of least privilege is met.

Reporting directly to the Head of Security, you will help maintain our reputation as a trusted partner to our customers. The role is based in Salford Quays, Manchester, on a permanent full-time onsite basis, with hybrid working available and an expectation of around 3 days a week in the office.
