Job Description

Salary: £49,000 - 89,000 per year

Requirements:
  • Understanding of the fundamental elements of web technologies such as HTTP, HTML, JavaScript and CSS
  • Demonstrable experience designing and integrating enterprise-scale CMS architectures
  • Understanding of SOLID object-oriented design principles and the ability to apply them to application solution design
  • Experience designing technology and application architecture for enterprise-scale web applications, including microservices and micro frontends
  • Experience with cloud solutions and containerised web application design
  • Good understanding of the OWASP Top 10 and common patterns used to protect against those vulnerabilities
  • Deep knowledge of web infrastructure subjects such as CDNs, WAFs, DNS, SSL and TLS
  • Demonstrable hands-on experience designing, consuming and governing RESTful APIs
Responsibilities:
  • Establish an architecture roadmap that sets the direction for the next few years
  • Steer planned technical upgrades, capacity uplifts, system rationalisation and decommissioning through functional convergence and wider technology stack evolution
  • Lead architectural assurance activities across the delivery lifecycle
  • Review solution designs, present at governance forums and address feedback to secure sign-off
  • Ensure systems and platforms continue to meet business SLAs, performance goals and security guidelines
  • Ensure systems and platforms meet agreed non-functional requirements, including performance, resilience, security and operability
  • Act as the technical and functional point of contact for the web applications and CMS domains
  • Support major releases and incidents
  • Provide direction and guidance to solution architects, developers and other technical staff
  • Support cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality software through clear definitions of success
  • Build trust within teams and empower them with the right skills to be autonomous in a safe manner
  • Take an active role in our Architecture and Web Development Guilds
  • Share best practices, encourage collaboration and coach colleagues
  • Develop and maintain relationships with wider UK and Group technology leads
