Security Consultant - SDA Lead Engineer

Salary: £100,000 - 100,000 per year

Requirements:

• We require a minimum of SC clearance, ideally DV clearance.
• We are looking for excellent technical and client-facing skills.
• We need strong engineering leadership and management experience across the engineering lifecycle.
• We require experience in solution architecture and design for Security Operations Centre solutions.
• We need knowledge and experience of designing, building and deploying SOC technology, including at least two of SIEM, SOAR, EDR, Vulnerability Management and Threat Intelligence.
• We require a good understanding of industry best practice in Security Operations across Services, People, Policy and Process, Technology and Physical layers.
• We need an understanding of common threats and mitigation techniques.
• We require proficiency in risk assessment and vulnerability management.
• We need knowledge of on-premises architectures and design.
• We require knowledge of cloud security architectures and designs.
• We need the ability to define and understand requirements that may be new, and to research and test potential solutions.
• We require familiarity with architectural frameworks such as TOGAF and Zachman, and modelling.
• We need good knowledge and experience of common enterprise ICT services.
• We require experience working with government systems and senior stakeholders.
• We need experience working across a variety of delivery styles, including agile, lean, iterative/incremental and waterfall.

Responsibilities:

• We engage with client stakeholders to understand and define security requirements, including accreditation requirements.
• We act as Solution Design Authority and Chief Engineer for Security Operations Centre solutions.
• We lead engineering delivery through all stages of the lifecycle, from concept and requirements definition through design, build and transition into service operation.
• We provide technical design authority and technical leadership for SOC architecture and design across service, people, process, technology and physical layers.
• We contribute to CONOPS, high-level designs, low-level designs and deployment-level designs.
• We ensure delivered solutions meet functional and non-functional security requirements.
• We contribute to the development of solution architectures in collaboration with other design team members.
• We support the design of security tools such as Splunk, Sentinel SIEM, Nessus Vulnerability Management and Microsoft XDR.
• We leverage our experience, IP and expertise, with support from product and subject matter experts, to deliver secure solutions.
• We lead and shape whole solutions across Services, People, Policy and Process, Technology and Physical Infrastructure layers.
• We lead teams to meet requirements and achieve objectives.
• We support the design, build, deployment and operation of Security Operations Centre solutions.
