Operations Engineer
Job Description
Salary: £65,000 - 105,000 per year
Requirements:- Excellent English communication skills
- 2+ years experience in a Technical Operations / SRE role
- Working knowledge of Windows Server flavours and Wintel hardware
- Knowledge of network stacks, protocols and technologies
- Demonstrative competency in scripting with PowerShell and/or Python
- Experience with enterprise and open source monitoring tools such as Splunk or New Relic
- Experience of working with CI/CD tooling such as GitHub, Bitbucket, Harness, Kubernetes, Terraform
- Experience of working both independently and collaboratively in a fast paced, demanding IT environment with a strong focus on business outcomes
- Comfortable with collaboration, open communication and reaching across functional borders
- Any experience in the financial services industry is also a plus
- Work with the London and Mumbai squads to provide excellent and seamless 1st and 2nd line support of detected issues, taking corrective action or escalating further as appropriate
- Actively identify gaps in Ops monitoring and tooling, and work with the appropriate team to implement effective solutions
- Respond to both internal and external requests effectively and efficiently, ensuring they are resolved within a timely manner
- Deploy, configure and test new software and updates to the Market Data application stack on behalf of Development teams
- Create and/or update documentation as needed to maintain our Ops knowledge base
- Undertake such training and/or hours of work as may be reasonably required, and which are consistent with the general level of responsibility of this role

We are a global Market Data team that collects, stores and distributes financial data from over 250 exchanges in real time, and we are moving functions and services to a cloud platform. This role is based in our London office, working 40 hours a week. After an initial training period, you will join a shift rotation that can include late finishes, weekend work, and at times Public/Bank Holidays.
