Cloud Security Architect
Job Description
Salary: £44,000 - 76,000 per year
Requirements:- Strong technical expertise and a passion for security
- Risk-based decision-making and adherence to regulatory and internal security standards
- Experience with threat modelling and risk management for complex cloud systems
- Broad knowledge across security domains and their capabilities within Azure and GCP, with SME experience in at least one area
- Familiarity with AWS is desirable
- Knowledge of AI/ML threats and risks, with experience applying security controls for secure deployment of AI services in cloud platforms
- Experience with application security, including CI/CD security and secure software supply chain
- Experience with data security, including key, certificate and secrets management
- Experience with identity and access management at scale
- Experience with infrastructure security, including Kubernetes (AKS/GKE/Istio), API security, and IaC security such as Terraform and ARM templates
- Experience with network security, including Zero Trust, firewalls, segmentation, and DDoS protection
- Experience with security logging and monitoring, SIEM integration, and event correlation
- CISSP, CCSP, or equivalent certifications are desirable
- Azure Security Engineer Associate or Google Professional Cloud Security Engineer certifications are desirable
- Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert or Google Professional Cloud Architect certifications are desirable
- Develop and enforce reference architectures, patterns, and blueprints for secure cloud adoption across Azure, GCP, and hybrid environments
- Conduct threat modelling and security assessments for new cloud services, defining preventative and detective controls to maintain secure posture and detect drift
- Partner with engineering and product teams to embed security guardrails early in design, ensuring compliance and resilience
- Review external architecture proposals and identify security gaps
- Document and uphold secure-by-design principles and architecture governance
- Collaborate with senior partners to articulate security risks and mitigations
- Anticipate customer needs and take proactive steps to address them

This full-time role is based in Manchester or London and follows a hybrid working pattern, with at least two days per week, or 40% of time, spent in one of our office sites.
