Assistant Manager Data Quality
Job Description
Salary: £95,000 - 130,000 per year
Requirements:- Proven experience in data quality management, data governance, or a related data management discipline.
- Deep understanding of data quality dimensions, including accuracy, completeness, consistency, timeliness, validity, and uniqueness.
- Proficiency with data profiling, data cleansing, and data standardisation techniques and tools such as Informatica Data Quality, Talend Data Quality, Collibra, Ataccama, or similar.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify root causes and propose practical solutions for complex data issues.
- Understanding of how data quality impacts AI model performance, reliability, and the mitigation of issues like hallucinations.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and people skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a challenging environment.
- Experience in the professional services sector.
- Familiarity with cloud data platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP, and their data quality capabilities.
- Knowledge of Master Data Management (MDM) and Metadata Management concepts.
- Experience with data quality tools specifically designed for unstructured data or text analytics.
- Relevant industry certifications such as DAMA Certified Data Management Professional (CDMP) or data quality certifications.
- Bachelors or masters degree, or equivalent qualification, in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Science, or a related quantitative field.
- Support the design, implementation, and operationalisation of our data quality framework.
- Work closely with Data Quality Managers, Data Owners, Data Stewards, and technology teams to ensure our data is accurate, complete, consistent, and fit for purpose.
- Conduct comprehensive data profiling across diverse datasets to identify characteristics, anomalies, inconsistencies, and potential data quality issues that could impact AI model performance.
- Apply AI technologies to data quality management.
- Work with business stakeholders and AI/ML teams to define, refine, and validate data quality rules aligned with business requirements and the needs of GenAI and Agentic AI models.
- Ensure adherence to our data governance policies and standards, supporting ethical, responsible, and compliant AI development.
- Proactively identify, analyse, and document data quality issues, perform root cause analysis, and collaborate with data owners and technical teams to implement remediation strategies.
- Support data cleansing initiatives by correcting or excluding inaccurate, incomplete, or irrelevant data.
- Develop and implement continuous data quality monitoring processes, establish key metrics, and create dashboards to track data accuracy, integrity, and fitness for purpose.
- Maintain thorough documentation of data quality processes, rules, issues, and resolutions, particularly as they pertain to AI data pipelines.
- Focus on preparing data for GenAI and Agentic AI initiatives by ensuring data is structured, transformed, contextualised, and accessible.
- Detect and mitigate biases in AI data, manage unstructured data for Large Language Models, and ensure data lineage is clear for explainable AI.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with Data Engineers, Data Scientists, AI Developers, and business users to embed data quality best practices throughout the data lifecycle and provide continuous feedback on data requirements for advanced AI.
