Job Description
Salary: £42,000 - 72,500 per year
Requirements:- Strong experience with Red Hat-based Linux and CLI
- Software development experience, ideally with Python
- Strong SQL and relational database knowledge
- Windows Server experience
- Good understanding of software development principles
- Experience supporting applications and infrastructure within complex environments

- Build, enhance, and support critical bespoke applications, contributing to application design, development, and ongoing maintenance

We are seeking an experienced Application and Infrastructure Engineer to join a specialist team supporting highly sensitive, business-critical systems within a national operational environment. This is a broad technical role offering variety across application support, infrastructure, development, and incident management. The position is a 6-month contract, inside IR35, paying £600–£650 per day, with onsite work in Stratford. We support systems where reliability and resilience are critical, and the work has genuine operational impact supporting the fight against organised crime alongside technical and operational teams, partner agencies, and operational users.
