Job Description

Salary: £120,000 - 160,000 per year

Requirements:
  • We are looking for experience as a data engineer.
  • We require strong experience with Python and SQL.
  • We need a solid understanding of working in a cloud-based environment, with AWS preferred.
  • We are looking for proficiency using transformation tools such as PySpark and Pandas.
  • We prefer knowledge and practice of graph databases, although this is not required.
  • We value familiarity with data quality frameworks such as Great Expectations.
  • We are looking for experience building cloud infrastructure using IaC tools such as CloudFormation or Terraform.
  • We expect a demonstrable understanding of industry standards and best practices in development methodology, including testing, code quality, and consistency.
  • We need great communication skills and the ability to bridge the gap between technical and non-technical audiences.
  • We are looking for an understanding of agile software development methodology, with scrum framework experience preferred.
  • We value a desire to continuously learn and develop both technical and non-technical skills.
  • A bachelors degree in computer science, STEM, or a related discipline is a plus, but not strictly required.
Responsibilities:
  • We create resilient, future-proof, novel solutions for business needs.
  • We design and implement pipelines for real-time analysis and critical decision making for operational systems.
  • We build ELT pipelines from source to presentation of data to our internal customers.
  • We write high-quality, testable, and readable code.
  • We assist with code reviews, provide solution design input, build automated tests, and create documentation.
  • We collaborate closely with junior and senior developers, the scrum master, and the product owner to ensure the data supports our client experience.
  • We identify and help implement continuous improvement in technical standards, methodologies, technologies, and processes.
  • We own the deployment and operations of the system across development, test, and production environments.
  • We participate in agile meetings aligned to the scrum framework, including sprint planning, daily scrums, sprint review, and sprint retrospective.
