Quantitative Researcher, Systematic Equities

Salary: £36,000 - 76,000 per year

Requirements:

• We require strong research and programming skills in Python, including experience working on sophisticated Python-based software tools and libraries in a fast-changing environment.
• We require a masters or PhD degree in a quantitative subject such as Computer Science, Applied Mathematics, Statistics, or a related field from a top-ranked university.
• We require excellent communication, analytical, and quantitative skills.
• We prefer 3+ years of experience with cash equities strategies doing alpha research.
• We prefer 3+ years of experience in equity alpha capture and flow research.
• We prefer 3+ years of experience in equity intraday trading.
• We value demonstrated ability to understand fundamental and event-related data, as well as experience with alternative data sources.
• We value strong economic intuition and critical thinking.
• We value product experience in statistical arbitrage strategies.
• We value product experience with machine learning-based alphas.

Responsibilities:

• We work alongside the SPM on alpha research, with a primary focus on idea generation, data gathering, research and analysis, model implementation, and backtesting for systematic equity strategies.
• We use rigorous scientific methods and machine learning or statistical learning techniques to explore, analyze, and harness a wide variety of datasets to build strong predictive models for deployment into the investment process.
• We develop and improve sophisticated Python-based software tools and libraries for machine learning research.
• We write and maintain neat, modular code on a jointly owned codebase of significant size and complexity.
• We collaborate with the SPM in a transparent environment, engaging with the whole investment process.
