Lead Web Developer
Job Description
Salary: £65,000 - 105,000 per year
Requirements:- We are looking for an experienced web developer with a strong background in building modern, web-based applications and services.
- We welcome applicants with a degree in IT or a software-related subject such as Computer Science, or equivalent experience.
- Experience of working in an Agile environment, such as Scrum, is required.
- Agile qualifications would be beneficial.
- We would like experience with relevant technologies such as SQL Server, MariaDB, C#, and related tools.
- Strong development experience in C# and Angular is required.
- We expect solid knowledge of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
- We are looking for experience in object-oriented design.
- Experience with SQL, RDBMS, and web interfaces to databases and business systems is important.
- Experience with JBoss, Apache, and IIS would be beneficial.
- Knowledge of Windows and Solaris, or a similar Unix-like operating system, is required.
- Understanding of architectural design methodologies and dependencies is important.
- Knowledge of Amazon Web Services (AWS) would be beneficial.
- We design and develop new web solutions aligned with management direction and our roadmap, including new tools and products.
- We manage the implementation of web development projects, including liaising with hosting partners.
- We propose architectural designs and solutions to keep our systems relevant, reliable, and performant.
- We present designs to internal and external stakeholders for review.
- We collaborate with Lead Developers to ensure consistency across our applications.
- We provide recommendations for enhancements to our services that improve the user experience.
- We keep up to date with technological advances and apply them where appropriate.
- We carry out regular code reviews to maintain style, content, and quality standards.
- We maintain user-friendly websites and web services, ensuring accessibility, optimisation, and fast download times.
- We develop new internal operating processes to improve working practices.
- We ensure consistent and accurate use of estimation methodologies for planned work.
- We improve existing pages and forms to enhance usability and meet customer expectations.
- We develop and maintain internal systems.
- We investigate problems and issues with our services and determine whether they are internal or external.
