Senior Data Architect - Wealth & Asset Management
Job Description
Salary: £65,000 - 105,000 per year
Requirements:- Proven experience delivering enterprise data architecture and cloud data engineering, including platform design within Wealth & Asset Management environments.
- Deep knowledge of contextual, logical, and physical data modelling practices across Front Office, Investments, Operations, and Risk/Compliance domains.
- Strong understanding of core Wealth & Asset Management data concepts, including client/householding, suitability and risk profiling, holdings/positions, trade lifecycle, pricing, performance, and fees.
- Hands-on experience with cloud-based data ecosystems such as AWS, Azure, and GCP, including cloud migration and transformation programmes.
- Experience integrating and architecting around key Wealth & Asset Management platforms and data sources, including CRM, OMS/PMS, wealth back office, custody/fund accounting, Bloomberg/market data, and reporting layers.
- Understanding of data management tooling, security frameworks, and control environments within regulated financial services.
- Exposure to Wealth & Asset Management regulatory and ESG requirements, including MiFID II, SFDR, PRIIPs/KIDs, and FATCA, and their impact on data models, lineage, and controls.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to engage and influence both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Bonus points for data or cloud architecture certifications such as AWS, Azure, GCP, or Databricks.
- Bonus points for experience in data lake design and large-scale data migrations.
- Bonus points for familiarity with graph computing and semantic data modelling.
- Bonus points for a background in Financial Services with stakeholder management in complex environments.
- Bonus points for the ability to lead teams and contribute to the development of our data architecture propositions.
- Lead and deliver complex data architecture initiatives across our Wealth & Asset Management clients.
- Guide wealth managers, asset managers, and private banks through large-scale data transformation journeys.
- Define enterprise data strategies across programmes and business units.
- Design target architectures and scalable, cloud-based platforms that support advisor and client experiences, investment analytics, regulatory reporting, and operational efficiency.
- Lead agile consulting engagements delivering modern data architecture and cloud transformation.
- Design canonical Wealth & Asset Management data domains and models, including client/household, portfolio/account, holdings/transactions, instruments and pricing, performance, and fees.
- Architect and deliver cloud-native data platforms on AWS, Azure, or GCP.
- Define integration patterns across core Wealth & Asset Management platforms such as CRM/advisor, OMS/PMS, wealth back office, custody, market/reference data, and reporting.
- Establish data quality, reconciliation, and control frameworks across holdings, books and records/AUM, pricing, corporate actions, fees, and NAV.
- Drive master and reference data strategies for clients, instruments, counterparties, and legal entities.
- Align data strategies with governance, metadata, privacy, and stewardship requirements.
- Act as a subject matter expert, translating complex technical concepts into clear business value for senior stakeholders.
- Contribute to our Wealth & Asset Management data architecture propositions and thought leadership in modern, cloud-native data ecosystems.
