Senior Data Science Manager

Salary: £90,000 - 100,000 per year

Requirements:

• Proven experience leading Data Science teams in a commercial environment.
• Strong knowledge of machine learning, statistics, Python and SQL.
• Experience developing and deploying predictive models using customer and commercial data.
• Experience with cloud analytics platforms such as Databricks, Snowflake or BigQuery.
• Strong stakeholder management, communication and leadership skills.
• Commercially focused with the ability to prioritise and deliver high-impact outcomes.

Responsibilities:

• Lead, coach and develop a high-performing Data Science team.
• Own and deliver our Data Science roadmap, prioritising work based on business value.
• Oversee the development and deployment of machine learning models, including churn, customer lifetime value, forecasting, segmentation and recommendation.
• Ensure our solutions are scalable, robust, governed and production-ready.
• Partner with business and technology stakeholders to translate commercial challenges into data-driven solutions.
• Drive best practice in data science, model governance and technical delivery.
• Deliver measurable business value through the effective use of data science.
• Challenge approaches, raise standards, coach technical talent and influence senior stakeholders across Customer, Digital, CRM, Loyalty, Retail Media, Finance and Technology.

We are hiring a Senior Data Scientist for a leadership role focused on customer data within a retail organisation. This role offers a salary of £100K plus a 50% bonus and a £6,500 car allowance. The position is based in Southampton, with a requirement to be onsite 2–3 days a month.
