Central Systems Integration Engineer

Salary: £35,000 - 60,000 per year

Requirements:

• Strong knowledge of issue and defect management processes and tools.
• Proficiency in root cause analysis techniques and problem-solving methodologies.
• Ability to develop, interpret, and present metrics, KPIs, and performance dashboards.
• Solid understanding of software integration principles and dependencies.
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to lead discussions on complex or sensitive matters.
• High attention to detail and strong process discipline.
• Ability to identify areas of weakness and where support is needed.
• Experience working within structured project governance frameworks, such as PMO or programme teams.
• Familiarity with Agile and Waterfall delivery models.
• Ability to maintain and update issue registers and tracking systems with accuracy and rigour.
• Ability to facilitate regular issue review meetings, ensuring clear ownership and timely follow-up.
• Degree or equivalent experience.

Responsibilities:

• Lead the diagnosis of software and systems issues during the development phase of automotive vehicle platforms.
• Plan and coordinate the delivery of software from multiple ECUs to support vehicle features and systems.
• Focus on issue resolution by understanding root cause and assisting with the resolution of systems and software issues within the vehicle.
• Engage directly with complex issues to support data gathering and problem definition.
• Analyse data to determine which team within our organisation owns the resolution.
• Determine the level of urgency required during the first stages of issue investigations.
• Ensure accuracy of captured data to maintain the quality of level 1 triage issue tickets.
• Keep key testing assets up to date and support testing of complex issues and systems.
• Work with all areas of the business to ensure issues are understood and prioritised correctly.

Our OEM client based in Gaydon is hiring a Central Systems Integration Engineer to join the Central Systems Integration team on an inside IR35 contract, with a proposed end date of 31st March 2027. The role focuses on resolving software and systems issues in automotive vehicle platform development, with an umbrella pay rate of £35.80 per hour. We are looking for someone who can work collaboratively across the business to support issue resolution, testing, and software integration activities.
