Software Engineer
Job Description
Salary: £60,000 - 60,000 per year
Requirements:- Configuration control for software and vehicle parameters.
- Structured data formats: JSON, GeoJSON, YAML.
- Map-based visualisation and mission planning systems.
- MAVLink or similar telemetry/command protocols.
- Qt, including Qt Widgets or QML.
- Linux development and deployment environments.
- Network communications: TCP, UDP, UART/Serial.
- Proficiency in one or more C-like languages: C, C#, or C++.
- Strong modern Python skill-set.
- Experience working with unmanned or autonomous systems, including aerial, ground, or marine vehicles.
- Familiarity with real-time or safety-critical systems.
- Experience extending open-source software.
- Design, implement, and maintain ground control features for unmanned vehicles.
- Extend and customise existing ground control applications and tooling.
- Implement configuration control mechanisms for vehicles.
- Develop and maintain structured configuration and mission data formats.
- Integrate and visualise real-time telemetry and vehicle state.
- Implement and maintain reliable communications links to vehicles.
- Support field testing, debugging, and operational deployment.
