Senior Full Stack Web Developer (PHP)

Salary: £50,000 - 60,000 per year

Requirements:

• We require strong proficiency in PHP, including modern versions, object-oriented programming, and best practices.
• We require extensive experience with PHP frameworks such as Laravel, Symfony, or similar.
• We require solid front-end development skills using JavaScript or TypeScript.
• We require experience with modern frontend frameworks such as React, Vue, or Angular.
• We require a deep understanding of HTML5, CSS3, and responsive design.
• We require experience building and consuming RESTful APIs.
• We require experience using Git, including branching strategies, pull requests, and code reviews.
• We require a strong working knowledge of Composer.
• We require experience with npm and Node.js.
• We require familiarity with build tools such as Vite or Webpack.
• We require experience working in Linux-based development environments.
• We require strong experience with MySQL.
• We require understanding of database design, indexing, and performance optimisation.
• We require experience with ORMs such as Eloquent or Doctrine.
• We require knowledge of caching systems such as Redis or Memcached.
• We require proven experience designing scalable and maintainable applications.
• We require a strong understanding of MVC architecture and design patterns.
• We require experience writing clean, testable, and well-documented code.
• We require understanding of API security, authentication, and authorization.
• We require experience with CI/CD pipelines.
• We require familiarity with Docker and containerised environments.
• We require understanding of server management and web servers such as Nginx and Apache.
• We require 5+ years of professional development experience, primarily with PHP.
• We require a proven track record of delivering production-grade web applications.

• We require the ability to mentor and support junior developers.
• We require excellent communication skills.
• We require a proactive mindset with strong ownership of work.

Responsibilities:

• We will design and develop scalable, maintainable web applications using PHP and modern web technologies.
• We will build and maintain backend functionality, APIs, and database-driven features.
• We will develop responsive front-end interfaces using JavaScript or TypeScript and modern frameworks.
• We will write clean, testable, and well-documented code.
• We will work with MySQL to design, optimise, and maintain database structures and queries.
• We will use Git, Composer, npm, and relevant build tools in our development workflow.
• We will work within Linux-based development environments and support deployment processes.
• We will contribute to CI/CD pipelines and containerised development using Docker.
• We will manage and support web server environments such as Nginx and Apache.
• We will implement secure API authentication and authorization practices.
• We will mentor and support junior developers.
• We will collaborate across the team to deliver production-grade web applications.
