Salary: £100,000 - 100,000 per year

Requirements:

• Experience managing and technically leading a software engineering team
• Strong soft skills for interacting with clients and demonstrating credibility in technology and delivery
• Proven capability in shaping the end-to-end software delivery lifecycle, including development, testing, deployment, and operations
• Ability to implement infrastructure-as-code, CI/CD, and efficient release management strategies
• Experience improving system performance through load testing, caching, and optimization of database queries and application logic
• Expertise in modern engineering standards such as TDD, contract testing, and secure coding
• Experience with architectural patterns such as event-driven architecture and platform migration
• Experience providing technical subject matter expertise to shape bids and client proposals
• Ability to present proposed approaches and discuss technical implementation with prospective clients during the sales process
• Strong problem-solving and analytical thinking skills
• Ability to collaborate with multiple stakeholders in a fast-paced environment
• Strong engineering background with leadership and technical best practice
• Understanding of the wider engineering landscape
• Interest in actively adopting AI within software engineering environments and using AI tooling to improve delivery and productivity
• Ability to work in the UK full time without restriction
• Eligibility for SC Clearance

Responsibilities:

• Join our Digital & Data team and work alongside product, design, and cross-disciplinary experts to bring ideas to life through innovative software solutions
• Work on a broad variety of projects and tech stacks across multiple sectors
• Lead software engineering efforts and provide technical direction to the team
• Shape and improve the end-to-end software delivery lifecycle across development, testing, deployment, and operations
• Implement infrastructure-as-code, CI/CD, and release management strategies
• Improve system performance through load testing, caching, and optimization of database queries and application logic
• Apply engineering standards and architectural patterns to deliver scalable, secure solutions
• Provide technical input for bids and client proposals
• Present technical approaches and implementation options to prospective clients during the sales process
• Use AI tooling pragmatically and safely through the SDLC to improve delivery and productivity
