Tech Support - Cloud VDI
Job Description
Salary: £31,000 - 71,000 per year
Requirements:- Relevant experience in IT systems administration or engineering roles within large MSPs.
- Relevant expertise in virtualized desktop environments, including Citrix, Citrix Cloud, AVD, Azure Stack HCI, and Nerdio.
- Hands-on experience with Windows Server (2012–2019) and associated technologies.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Active Directory for GPOs.
- Strong knowledge of tools like AppSense/Ivanti, FSLogix, NetScaler, XenApp, XenDesktop, and Delivery Controller.
- Good problem-solving abilities and the capacity to perform effectively under pressure.
- Desirable certifications such as Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate, VMware Certified Professional (VCP), or similar qualifications.
- Good time management, effective communication with customers and senior engineers, and good understanding of customer/client relationships.
- Provide tech support for VDI as part of our UK Infrastructure Team, supporting virtualised desktop environments.
- Resolve incidents and tasks raised by customers through ServiceNow.
- Plan and implement changes to meet customer requirements.
- Liaise with TSMs, projects, and other parts of our business to carry out chargeable work for customers or other business areas.
- Manage technologies such as Citrix On-Prem and Cloud, AVD, and Nerdio.
- Support and troubleshoot virtualization environments such as VMware, Microsoft Hyper-V, and Microsoft Azure.
- Work with Active Directory, including GPOs for desktop and profile management, including FSLogix.
- Provide clear technical support for Citrix environments, including NetScaler, XenApp, XenDesktop, Delivery Controllers, and profile management.
- Implement and use tools like AppSense/Ivanti and FSLogix for user workspace management.
- Support Microsoft server products from Windows 2012 to 2022.
- Understand the certificate renewal process and certificate chains within Citrix.
- Provide second-line support for IT systems, ensuring timely resolution or escalation of technical issues.
- Maintain thorough documentation of system configurations, changes, and standard operating procedures.
