Staff Analytics Engineer

Salary: £30,000 - 50,000 per year

Requirements:

• We think in systems, not just queries, and have designed data architectures that span multiple products or domains.
• We have built data products that are governed, documented, versioned, discoverable, and trusted.
• We have deep fluency with analytics engineering systems and infrastructure, including dbt at scale, BigQuery or equivalent, CI/CD for data, testing frameworks, and orchestration.
• We have designed, contributed to, or have a clear vision for reusable feature layers serving multiple consumers, including ML pipelines, dashboards, decisioning engines, and regulatory reporting.
• We are comfortable at the platform boundary and can discuss ingestion patterns, streaming vs. batch trade-offs, schema evolution, and infrastructure costs.
• We connect technical choices to business outcomes and understand how product, credit, engineering, and operational teams use data.
• We lead through others by setting patterns, reviewing designs, unblocking teams, and raising the standard.
• We communicate across different levels of detail and can tailor our message to technical and senior audiences.
• We care about credit products and are interested in lending, including risk, affordability, regulatory constraints, and multi-product dynamics.

Responsibilities:

• Architect our Borrowing data layer at scale across Analytics Engineering, Product, Engineering, Credit, and Data Platform.
• Design and govern our data products, moving beyond ad-hoc tables toward well-defined, contractual data assets with ownership, SLAs, documentation, and interfaces.
• Build feature stores and reusable analytical assets that turn raw product data into curated, versioned features for models, dashboards, and decisions.
• Scale our analytics engineering infrastructure by shaping tooling, patterns, and developer experience for a large credit and data organisation.
• Drive cross-product data consistency as we expand across geographies and product lines.
• Act as a senior technical partner for our data estate, working with backend engineers, product managers, credit teams, and senior leadership.
• Lead through influence and leverage by setting patterns, unblocking architectural decisions, and raising the bar across the domain.
