Salary: £45,000 - 80,000 per year

Requirements:
  • We require a university or engineering school degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Electronic/Electrical Engineering, or another related science field.
  • We require several years of experience in software, hardware, or mathematics.
  • We require proven experience in software programming alongside technical management.
  • We value a passion for innovation, creative thinking, and exploring new approaches.
  • You must be able to work effectively independently and in a team environment.
  • Strong software development experience in areas such as HPC, machine learning, distributed applications, web technologies, mobile applications, databases, or multimedia is highly desirable.
  • Strong development skills in one or more high-level programming languages such as C, C++, Java, or Rust are highly desirable.
  • Experience in software performance analysis on platforms such as Android, Windows, or Linux, including operating system settings impact, is highly desirable.
  • Experience with CPU performance analysis, performance methodology, and tools such as linux perf, Intel Vtune, android simpleperf, or perfetto is highly desirable.
  • Knowledge of aarch64 assembly language programming and CPU architecture or micro-architecture performance techniques such as branch prediction and prefetchers is highly desirable.
  • We value experience adapting experimental application code to test new architectures.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills are highly desirable.
Responsibilities:
  • We analyse benchmarks and workloads to identify software and hardware optimization opportunities.
  • We analyse CPU performance and understand the limitations we need to overcome.
  • We collaborate with software teams, compiler teams, OS teams, and application teams to implement improvements.
  • We collaborate with CPU design teams to identify bottlenecks.
  • We write and extract performance tests from existing software applications and run them on C/C++ models, emulators, or real devices across multiple operating systems.
  • We work alongside modelling engineers, CPU design teams, and our Architecture group.
  • We drive technical activities.
  • We collaborate with business teams and partners to present technical results.
  • We develop the roadmap for our core interconnect and control subsystems, ensuring technical validation and strategic alignment across markets.
  • We own requirement specifications and roadmap rigor to ensure subsystem coherence across product generations.
