Software Engineer, Quality

Salary: £46,000 - 86,000 per year

Requirements:

• Good understanding of testing methodologies, test plan organisation, and technical requirements.
• Experience writing and executing manual test cases in line with project scope.
• Strong experience with QA testing on web or mobile applications.
• Experience with defect management and bug tracking tools such as JIRA.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with excellent attention to detail.
• Ability to work to tight deadlines, manage workloads, and escalate where required.
• Comfortable collaborating across teams and communicating clearly with both technical and non-technical colleagues.
• Experience with the Unity Engine or other interactive 3D tools.
• Experience in a QA role within the games or interactive media industry.
• Experience with backend or API testing.
• Experience building or contributing to automated test procedures.
• Sufficient knowledge of English to have professional verbal and written exchanges, as the role requires frequent communication with colleagues and partners worldwide.

Responsibilities:

• Carry out manual and exploratory testing across features and releases, working within an agile team.
• Own the QA process for the features you are assigned, from requirements through to sign-off.
• Write, manage, and maintain test cases and scripts to ensure full scope and coverage.
• Manage defects throughout their full lifecycle, including logging, tracking, escalating, and verifying fixes.
• Work closely with engineers and product managers to review requirements, surface risks, and produce test plans.
• Participate in sprint ceremonies including stand-ups, planning, and retrospectives.
• Collaborate with the broader QA team and all other departments to ship with quality.
• Contribute to process improvements and help raise the quality bar across the team.
