Senior Software Engineer Node.js

Salary: £80,000 - 80,000 per year

Requirements:

• Strong backend software engineering experience with Node.js and TypeScript
• Experience with Kafka and event-driven architectures
• Good knowledge of microservices, RESTful APIs, and scalable system architecture
• Experience working with relational and NoSQL databases, including PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB, and DynamoDB
• Strong appreciation of DevOps, CI/CD, GitHub Actions, and Jenkins
• Familiarity with containerisation using Docker, cloud services using AWS, and Infrastructure-as-Code using Terraform
• Ability to take ownership of projects, work with the Lead Engineer, and mentor more junior team members
• Collaborative, pragmatic, and strong communication skills
• Must be a UK citizen or hold the right to work without visa restrictions

• Join our team as we scale our product to support millions of users
• Design and deliver high-quality, maintainable backend code and features using TypeScript and Node.js
• Ensure our code aligns with established architectural standards and is covered by tests
• Support backend system performance and reliability, helping us maintain a 99% uptime SLA
• Design, implement, and extend robust APIs and microservices supporting gameplay, user management, platform, and content management systems
• Collaborate with product and game teams to ensure features align with backend architecture
• Work with DevOps to support uptime, observability, and deployment reliability
• Take ownership of complex systems and proactively address performance and scalability bottlenecks
