Senior Software Engineer - AI/ML - AI Platform (EDI)

Salary: £69,000 - 109,000 per year

Requirements:

• Extensive professional experience in backend software engineering, with expertise in technologies such as Python, Golang, gRPC, AWS, and Kubernetes
• Proven track record of owning and shipping complex, production-grade systems
• Experience shipping and maintaining AI-native products or features, or significant personal AI projects demonstrating equivalent experience
• Strong ownership mindset, seeing projects through to completion and raising the bar for execution across the team
• Bias for action and a passion for shipping rapidly and iterating based on feedback
• BS/MS in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or another quantitative field, or equivalent experience
• Must have and maintain the right to work in the United Kingdom from the first day of employment; visa sponsorship is not available
• Preferred: Specific experience with LLMs and agentic systems
• Preferred: Hands-on experience with modern AI/LLM ecosystem technologies such as Databricks, LangChain, or MLflow
• Preferred: Advanced understanding of the probabilistic systems underpinning modern LLMs
• Preferred: Experience building AI products in accuracy-sensitive domains such as finance

Responsibilities:

• Drive end-to-end execution and delivery of AI-native products, from initial prototypes to scalable production services
• Architect, build, and productionize core AI platform components, including LLMs and related tools, agentic frameworks, and agent capabilities such as cross-platform tool use, web browsing, and computer use
• Enforce technical discipline and operational excellence across AI products
• Iterate on AI products using performance metrics and user feedback to drive continuous improvement
• Lead the evaluation and adoption of new AI technologies and frameworks
• Partner with product managers and engineering teams to turn strategic goals into technical solutions and make AI complexity easier to work with
