Senior Kotlin/JVM Engineer

Salary: £61,000 - 101,000 per year

Requirements:

• Strong commercial Kotlin or JVM-based engineering experience, with willingness to work with Kotlin
• Ability to write simple, clean code
• Experience and understanding of databases; relational databases are a must, and NoSQL would be nice too
• Ability to quickly understand complex financial business domains
• Ability to understand different software architectures rapidly
• Understanding of abstraction and interpolation
• Ability to write comprehensive automated tests at all levels of the pyramid
• Understanding of the Kanban agile methodology is preferred, but not essential
• Ability to get along with others and build relationships
• Willingness to continually learn, improve, and collaborate
• Ability to solve problems independently and know when to ask peers for help
• Rational thinking and awareness of the reasons behind work approaches
• Pragmatic mindset with the ability to weigh trade-offs between code quality and delivery

• Deliver elegant, idiomatic solutions in Kotlin or Java
• Contribute new knowledge and experience to collaborative design discussions with stakeholders across the business
• Build and integrate new APIs
• Tune existing services as they scale
• Support the expansion of new products and supporting services in the US
• Work closely with others in a small, exceptional engineering team
• Help improve software engineering capabilities as a team
